High School Days

Journal Entry: Tue Oct 2, 2012, 4:14 PM
Pianos in the bandroom:
Out of tune,
but usable during lunch.

This was the two years at my first high school.

~.~.~.~.~.~

If this poem made you feel engaged or enraged, I suggest you try:

Ernest Hemingway, baby shoes story
Ezra Pound, "In a Station of the Metro"
William Carlos Williams, "The Red Wheelbarrow"

I've always wondered at how such complex stories could be told with so few words.

You were certainly able to convey an image with this poem. Although I know that it's hard to convey a lot of emotion/information with limited space. Were you following a certain syllable-scheme?

Yes, I can totally relate to this. Especially the 'out-of-tune' part, haha. And the using them at lunch. Yes, this is a great poem. Short poems are hard to do, but you've got it down good ^^

Thanks.

Short poems are both easy and difficult to write, since each line needs to carry a lot of meaning.

Sadly, There's only one piano in my school, and too many people use it. (sighs) I get it, and it is really quite deep. Nice job.

That stinks. :( I wish you could go to my old school; we had about eight of them. Of course, some of them were locked away at times and nearly all of them hadn't been tuned for ages...

Thank you. :huggle:

Wait, what does this have to do with high school? Hold on...
(Several musings later)
Oh, I got it now! Totally understand how that feels!
P.S. Ah, the baby shoes story. Such a literary success...

Indeed. The six-word stories are such a good idea.
